Using Yamaha Disklavier Remote Lesson Technology over the internet, Professor and head of piano Inna Faliks will be teaching in real time from UCLA’s Recording Studio in the Ostin Music Center to a student at a school in China. Faliks will play on UCLA’s Yamaha DCFX PRO (9’ concert grand Disklavier) while simultaneously playing the exact notes, nuances and artistry on a comparable Disklavier piano over 6000 miles away. Sponsored by Yamaha Music & Electronics China, this event will be attended by representatives of eight major Chinese conservatories, who will be visiting UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music. This is the first such official connection between UCLA and a conservatory of music in China.  UCLA was one of the first schools to use Disklavier Remote Lesson technology for private lesson teacher, when Faliks taught UCLA piano students from New York’s Yamaha Artist Services in 2012.
